I have 2 tables 1 listing countries and one listing states within those countries, I want a user to firstly select a country then click next hyperlinking to a new page asking them for a state which is filtered by the country initiall selected can anyone tell me how to do this.

PS I am relativley new to this so be gental!

Hi,

If you have the country also in a second table is a trivial issue...on contrary you'll need a more complicated sql statement by using inner.join...
Again, if you have a row of data in your second table correlating the states with respective countries..all you'll need is to send the selected field on your form (country) to another page where you'll place the state selection. Thus means in a second page you need to receive that value ( I presume you're aware about request.querystring methods)...then all you need to do is an option field using a select from your database filtering data as your variable recieved in page transition..

This is a general tip of course...Let me know if you need a fully exemple (you can send me your tables as well)
