hi,

i use cdonts with asp to send mail on a nt4 webserver. It always worked nicely, but since a day or 2 the mail won't get out of the queue directory. There are also rtr-files in the  directory with the foloowing content:

Connection to smtp.webservername failed. No Ip address found from webservername-ipadress
<Emailadres>
Server received Winsock error Host not found.

Does anybody have a clue?

Thanx

Did you try rebooting the server.
That usually will get the messeges sent out of the  cue.

CDONTS is known to do things like that.
I stopped using it ages ago.

You might want to consider trying something more robust like sasmtpmail from www.softartisans.com

persits also makes a nice emailing component

I have to agree with Chris here.  CDONTS is known to be flakey especially on NT4 server.  I use the persists mail sender object on an old NT server of mine and it works great.  Just a thought.

What is the advantage of using CDONTS for sending emails from ASP when there is ASPQmail?
